Calling For Kids

Calling for kids was our primary fund raiser for many years. It was our opportunity to directly reach out to parents and fund our teacher grant program. We are very grateful for all the support we have received from Sherwood over the years. Most recently the calling occurred in November over three days, we called from the district offices and are grateful for their help and support.

At first the calls were made by parent volunteers, but then we switch to having our own middle and high school students make the calls. It was great for us to be able to work directly with the students. It allowed students to give back to their teachers and also get volunteer hours for the various clubs and leaderships programs that the students were a part of.

As board members, we go into the class rooms and give a volunteer pitch for callers. We always get a great response and being in the classrooms is always a great experience for a parent. Below is a picture of our board members tallying up the donations.
